Act 3 Scene 5

Characters: The 3 Witches and Hecate

Location: The heath

Events: The Witches are rebuked by the witch godess Hecate for not involving her in their dealings with Macbeth. Hecate vows to lead Macbeth to his destruction. Lenox voices his suspicions to another lord about Duncan’s and Banquo’s deaths.

Quote: “How did you dare to trade and traffic with Macbeth, in riddles and affairs of death; And I, the mistriss of your charms, the close contriver of all harms, was never called to bear my part, or show the glory of our art?”

Explaination: Hecate is angry because The Witches didn’t involve her in their dealings with Macbeth and she is complaining.
